“The idea of this song came about from performing for children and families in hospital care. I wanted to write an inspirational song to let them know that they are not alone and that they can overcome any of life's challenges.
 
My older brother was also an inspiration for this song. He is fighting cancer and I wanted to let him know that he is not alone in his fight. One of the lyrics came from a book from my childhood, "The Little Engine That Could." I believe “I think I can” is a great mantra.” - Doug on "For Always"
